“What I love most about being the Editor-in-Chief of The Towerlight is getting to witness the team effort that goes into putting this newspaper together. We really couldn’t do it without any of the people who are part of this newspaper. And it’s just great to see us come together every Monday morning through the late afternoon to get the news out to the Towson community. I think The Towerlight is a great way to prepare young journalists for the professional world of journalism. We may be a student-run newspaper, but we hold ourselves and our staff members to a very high standard that matches the industry standard, I believe. I’m proud of the work that we do. I love coming into work. The Towerlight makes me less of a Garfield on Mondays.”

“I’d like to be a beauty and fashion editor at a fashion magazine. Beauty and fashion has always been two subjects that I’ve been interested in. But, I think being exposed to The Towerlight and getting the opportunity to edit for the Arts department is really awesome because it’s exposing me to the writing aspect of that and I’ve always looked at the more visual aspects of the industries. So, I think it would be cool because beauty and fashion is something that everyone participates in even if they don’t think they do. It’s a daily option and it’s one of the ways in which we communicate on the daily without having to say a word. So it has a lot more significance than people give it credit for. So I think combining both visual and verbal communication is really awesome.”

“I want to be a journalist when I grow up. I like being in the know, I like writing, I like meeting new people. I think being in the know is really important. Especially with everything that’s going on, both nationally and globally. There’s just so much to know. I like meeting new people because there’s so much to learn from every single individual you meet. So, the more people you meet, the more you know, and the more aware you can be of different circumstances, behind everything. Every story has more than one side, and I love discovering all sides of a story; so that’s why I want to be a journalist.”
